Challenge:
When the Grown Up Chocolate Company approached Toast Food, they had a fantastic new product and were on the search for Unique Chocolate Branding and Packaging that reflected the high-quality ingredients and the fun associated with the product.
The idea behind the Grown Up Chocolate Company is to create chocolate bars that are reminiscent of the chocolate bars we ate as children, but with an adult twist.
In order for them to fulfil the potential of their products, they needed a great branding and packaging design solution to get them to be stocked in the right places.
Approach:
We started at the strategy and positioning stage, looking at the concept, key messaging and brand structure. This happened before we even thought about the creative, where we developed the brand concept and styling.
We created a strong brand identity for The Grown Up Chocolate Company, adding in the strapline “Nice try kid, but it’s not for you”. This helped to position the concept behind the bars, the images showing kids pretending to be grown-ups in order to eat the chocolate. This became the foundation for everything moving forward.
Solution:
We created designs that centred on the core benefit of the product. A delectable hand-made chocolate experience that you appreciate as an adult. And combined with the childlike joy remembered through receiving chocolate as a gift or treat.
The branding for The Grown Up Chocolate Company has been hugely successful for the business, allowing the bars to get stocked in their target retailers including BP Service Stations and WH Smith.
Whilst building a dedicated brand following from customers who had tried the range and established their favourite. Toast Food supported this rollout by applying the brand to everything from websites and exhibition stands to in-store POS and promotional material.
