Challenge:
The Country Garden Drinks Company approached Toast Food to help them to create their natural drink branding and packaging that matched their vision and allowed them to take their products to market.
Siblings Emma and Matthew grew up in rural Lincolnshire, surrounded by great British produce available in abundance. From an early age, they both loved foraging the hedgerows with their family and growing fruit and veg at home. From this, an immediate love of all things natural grew. In 2017 they founded The Country Garden Drinks Company with a focus on producing the best quality, natural and premium English soft drinks made with real fruits and herbs, and with no artificial flavours and no added nasties.
Approach:
Following our initial meeting with Emma and Matthew, it was clear to see how passionate they were about using British flavours but with a twist and we loved this. We set about creating a brand design that represented something that at first looks simple and obvious, but when you look again it has something different about it.
At the same time, the branding had to have a premium and quality feel and be adaptable to work across tonics and potentially spirits eventually too.
Solution:
The end result is an elegant and interesting brand design that represents all aspects of what The Country Garden Drinks Company is about: nature, Britishness and local ingredients found in hedgerows and gardens, mixed with traditional methods of making products from these ingredients, but with an unusual twist
The initial range is two tonics, Strawberry and Basil and Apple and Ginger. We created a label design for these two products but the brand design can develop as the range grows, with a bespoke illustration in a similar style for each product.
